Brian Norton was hired as the Head Athletic Trainer at Eastern Washington University in June of 2003. He handles all the athletic training services for the Eagle football team, as well as overseeing the services provided to the other sports by a staff of five certified athletic trainers.
Brian received his Bachelors Degree in Athletic Training from the University of Kansas in 1993, and a Masters Degree in Physical Education from Ohio University in 1996.
Prior to coming to EWU, Brian was the Head Athletic Trainer/Director of Athletic Training Education at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas. He had been at Southwestern since August of 1996, and directed athletic training services for more than 250 student-athletes in 12 sports. He handled athletic training services for the football team, and was also an Assistant Professor in the Physical Education & Sport Studies Department.
Before his stint at Southwestern, Brian served as the Head Athletic Trainer from 1995-1996 at the University of Rio Grande in Ohio.
Brian and his wife, Melissa, a physician assistant with Rockwood Clinic in Cheney, along with their children, Brandon and Allison, reside in Cheney. He enjoys watching sports, golfing, and spending time with family and friends.
