The Athletic Compliance Office is committed to a comprehensive compliance program that educates its constituents about the importance of adhering to NCAA, Big Sky Conference, and institutional rules.

Eastern Washington University believes in the concept of shared compliance responsibilities. Members of the athletics department, other institutional staff members, student-athletes as well as all individuals and groups representing Eastern’s athletics interests are responsible for ensuring Eastern’s commitment to integrity and rules compliance.

Eastern Washington University is committed to the principle of institutional control in operating its athletics program in a manner that is consistent with the letter and spirit of NCAA, conference and university rules and regulations. The University's commitment is to maintain control of its athletics programs through cooperation between responsible administrators, coaches, faculty, all institutional staff members, student-athletes and representatives of the University's athletics interests.

To ensure institutional control and uphold the integrity of the Department, the Athletic Compliance Office is charged with the following tasks:

·  Monitoring

·  Enforcement

·  Institutional Control

The importance of following all NCAA rules and regulations is imperative to maintaining the integrity of Eastern Washington University. EWU asks all alumni, current student-athletes, prospective student-athletes, their families and friends to help the University protect the athletic eligibility of our student-athletes and the reputation of the University by adhering to the rules and regulations of the NCAA and by contacting the Compliance Office or the NCAA with all questions.
