Eagles Currently Second in Big Sky Presidents' Cup

The Eastern Washington University athletics department is in second place in the Sterling Savings Big Sky Conference Presidents' Cup race following the fall semester. Weber State University leads the competition, while the University of Montana is currently in third place.
Eastern Washington is currently in the lead in the academic portion. EWU's fall teams finished with a grade point average of 3.33, led by the volleyball team at 3.52. Eastern is third in the athletic portion after winning the regular-season volleyball championship and tying for third in football in the final football standings.
The Cup is an annual award that recognizes a combination of academic and athletic achievement of student-athletes. Academic criteria includes individual grade point averages, graduation rates and number of all-conference performers with GPAs above 3.0.
Points are determined based on team finishes in the regular-season Big Sky standings for soccer, volleyball, men's and women's basketball and football, while points are awarded in men's and women's cross country, and men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field by finish at the Big Sky Championship.
