April 28, 2008

Jeff Carroll and Peter Piscitello have been announced as new hires in the Eastern Washington University athletic department. Carroll will serve as the head strength and conditioning coach, while Piscitello will manage the business operations and ticketing.

Carroll comes to Eastern Washington with nearly three years of experience as an assistant strength and conditioning coach with the Seattle Seahawks. He also has spent time working for Velocity Sports Performance as a sports performance coach and as a strength and conditioning intern at the University of Washington. He worked with the Husky football, volleyball and men's soccer and basketball teams.

Additionally, Carroll has served as the head junior varsity lacrosse coach at Mercer Island High School since the 2005 season.

He earned his bachelor's degree in health and fitness management from Pacific Lutheran University in 2002. Carroll is a NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association) certified strength and conditioning specialist.

Carroll and the former Paige Jamieson married in July.

Piscitello is well versed with Eastern Washington, as he served as an intern for associate athletic director for development Matt McCoy since October. In that position, he worked directly with the Eagle Athletic Association, Alumni Association and Foundation. He has also helped plan donor events and fundraising initiatives.

Prior to arriving at EWU, Piscitello worked as an intern at Benedictine College for nearly a year, assisting the athletic director with tasks including game management to feasibility studies and information collection. He also spent time as an intern at Iowa State University, where he compiled a stadium revenue analysis and worked closely with the development staff and the National Cyclone Club.

He is set to earn a master's degree in education, specializing in intercollegiate athletic leadership, from the University of Washington in June. Piscitello attained a bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing emphasis, in 2007 from Benedictine.

Piscitello and Tessa Leach are engaged to get married on June 28 in Spokane.
