Two Coaches Shows This Week as Football Continues and Basketball Shows Begin

Monday’s football show takes place at Northern Quest and basketball show is Tuesday at the Swinging Doors

Eastern Washington University Coaches Shows on 700 ESPN will take place on both Monday (Nov. 26) and Tuesday (Nov. 27) this week and will feature head football coach Beau Baldwin and head men’s basketball coach Jim Hayford.

The public is invited to attend the live shows, which begin at 6 p.m. and are hosted by veteran Eastern announcer Larry Weir. Monday shows feature Baldwin and take place in the former broadcast room at the Q Sports Bar and Restaurant at Northern Quest Casino and Resort. Shows will take place for sure on Nov. 26 and Dec. 3, and they will continue until the end of the season for EWU, which opens the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision Playoffs on Dec. 1.

Normally, fans are invited to come early to Northern Quest and view weekly video and hear commentary from Baldwin at 5:30 p.m. However, this Monday (Nov. 26) there will be no video because of EWU practice that day. Eastern athletic director Bill Chaves and track and field coach Stan Kerr will be special guests this Monday prior to the appearance by Baldwin.

Starting this Tuesday (Nov. 27), Coaches Shows featuring Hayford and Weir will also take place on Tuesdays at the Swinging Doors in North Spokane. The shows will continue on Tuesdays through Dec. 18, then will resume weekly on Tuesdays starting Jan. 8.

Programming on 700-AM ESPN is also available via the web at www.700espn.com and via iPhone application (search for “700 ESPN” and download the free app). The broadcast is also available via www.tunein.com and tunein’s mobile phone app.

Weir and radio analyst Paul Sorensen host the football shows, with Weir handling the men’s basketball shows. Eagle sideline reporter and pre-game Tailgate Show host Keith Osso hosts Monday shows when Weir is away with the Eastern basketball team.

Northern Quest is located at 100 N. Hayford Road in Airway Heights.  From downtown Spokane, take exit 277 off I-90 and follow Highway 2 for 4.4 miles, then turn right on Hayford Road and follow for 1.0 miles. From Cheney, take exit 272 off I-90 and follow WA-902 toward Medical Lake for just 0.3 miles. Take a right on Geiger Blvd., followed by a quick left on Hayford Road and follow for 4.4 miles.

The Swinging Doors is located at W. 1018 Francis in North Spokane.
