Eastern Track and Field Team Receives All-Academic Award

With a 3.190 GPA, Eagle women ranked 85th out of 131 honored teams

The Eastern Washington University women's track and field team has been honored on the 2009 NCAA Division I U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic team.

The EWU women had a 3.190 GPA to rank them 85th out of the 131 teams honored. Among the members of the team, Bonnie Berscheid, Michelle Coombs, Shene Davis, Krystal Deyo, Chelsi Friese and Shannon Long were honored individually on July 13 as All-Academic selections.

The selection of the award is based on a combination of academic and athletic achievements. To be nominated, the team must carry a minimum 3.000 cumulative grade point average.

Other Big Sky Conference schools recognized were Weber State (22nd, 3.390), Montana State (32nd, 3.350), Idaho State (41st, 3.319) and Montana (48th, 3.300).
