Competition is set to begin Friday morning with the men's javelin at 9 a.m. Running events will start at 11 a.m., with the men's 5,000-meter run. Saturday's schedule will feature a number of field events at 9 a.m. Running events will also begin at 9 a.m., with the women's 4x100-meter relay.

Last weekend at the Dusty Lane Open, eight Eagles qualified for the conference championships (six men and two women). Of those competitors, freshman Olivia Midles qualified in the hammer throw in her first Eastern appearance. Her mark of 163-11 earned the Olympia, Wash., native a second-place finish at the meet. She also nabbed an eighth-place spot on EWU's all-time best list with the mark. Midles will look to improve that mark again this weekend in California.
