Eagles Return to Seattle for Next Competition
Eastern Washington to compete at the UW Invitational Jan. 28-29
After taking a week off, the Eastern Washington University track and field teams will travel across the state again to compete in the University of Washington Invitational, held in the Dempsey Indoor Facility (Jan. 28-29).
Competition begins Friday (Jan. 28) with the women's pentathlon at 3:40 p.m., and the men's heptathlon at 3:50 p.m. Saturday's contest will begin with running events at 9 a.m. Field events will commence at 10 a.m., with the men's and women's long jump.
This will be the second of three trips to UW for the Eagles this season. During the last visit, six Big Sky Conference qualifying standards were met by Eastern athletes.
Junior Brad Wall ran away with a first-place finish in the 400 meters two weeks ago on UW's indoor track. His time of 48.23 was a personal best and was good enough to qualify him for the BSC championships. He also earned athlete of the week accolades from the league for his accomplishments.
Wall and the rest of the Eagles return to Seattle this weekend to take on a more elite group of athletes, as the standards to enter the meet are considerably more testing.
