2009-10 - Indoor: Coombs qualified for the indoor conference championships in the 55-meter hurdles where she had a lifetime-best time of 8.57 in the preliminary round. Coombs' best time in the 60-meter hurdles occurred at the Idaho Vandal Collegiate, where she clocked a time of 9.07 to place fifth. Outdoor: Coombs qualified not only for the BSC championships but also the NCAA Regional Meet after having an impressive performance at the Oregon Relays. She had a throw of 155-5 place second in the elite section of the javelin throw. She finished just behind Nike's Rachel Yurkovich. Looking to defend her BSC title in the javelin, Coombs headed to Ogden, Utah for the outdoor conference championships. During the preliminary rounds of the competition, Coombs was hindered with an injury to her elbow, which limited her to a 122-8-foot throw – more than 40 feet less than her lifetime best. Coombs had surgery during the summer and will redshirt during the 2010-11 season.

2008-09: Outdoors, Coombs won the Big Sky Conference Championships in the javelin with a career-best mark of 163-1 to rank third in school history. She went on to finish sixth at the NCAA West Regionals with a throw of 153-4 and finished 25th at the NCAA Championships with a mark of 142-6. She finished 12th in the heptathlon at the BSC Championships with 3,835 points and 15th in the long jump with an effort of 14-1 3/4. Indoors, her best time in the 60 hurdles of 9.44 and high jump of 4-11 came at the Runner’s Soul Open. She was named Big Sky All-Academic outdoors.
