2011-12: Outdoor: Competing for the first time since the 2010 outdoor season, Downey’s season best in the 400 came at the BSC Outdoor Championship prelims, where she ran 58.80 to place 19th overall. That time was nearly a second faster than her previous season best of 59.69 (Al Manuel Invite) and milliseconds from her personal best (58.74). She also reached her personal best of 26.35 in the 200 at the Duane Hartman Invite to place sixth overall. She was selected to the spring Big Sky All-Academic team.

2010-11: Redshirted

2009-10: Indoor: Downey had personal-best marks in the 800 (2:23.16) and the mile (6:13.29). She competed at the BSC Indoor Championships on EWU’s distance medley relay team, which placed sixth (12:38.12). Outdoor: Switching from distance specialization to sprints, Downey ran a personal-best time of 58.74 in the 400 at the Pelluer Invite, placing first. At the BSC Outdoor Championship, she ran a time of 58.94 to place 13th overall. Downey also ran the 400 hurdles, recording a personal-best time of 1:07.12 at the Duane Hartman Invite and placing first. She hit her outdoor season best of 2:23.31 at the Beach Invitational. She was selected to the winter and spring Big Sky All-Academic teams.

2008-09: Indoor: Redshirted. Outdoor: Downey ran season bests in both the 800 (2:36.98) and 1,500 (5:42.18) at the WAOR 2 Meet. She also competed in the 400 (1:01.22) and 3,000 steeplechase (13:26.60).

High School: Downey was an all-around athlete for the Okanogan Bulldogs, earning letters all four years in track, soccer and basketball. She won the 800 at the 2007 1A WIAA State Championships with a personal-best time of 2:17. She placed in the top three at the State Championships six times during her career including four times in the 800 (3rd, 2nd, 1st, 2nd), once in the 1,600 (2nd in 2005) and once in the 400 (3rd in 2006). She also garnered all-league honors in both soccer and basketball her senior year.

Personal: Mechanical Engineering major. Born 3/2/90 in Cottonwood, Idaho. Her father is Tom Downey and her twin sister, Nadine, is also a student at Eastern.
