Sacramento State: Kutsch’s best time in the 8,000 for cross country came during the 2011 season when he ran a time of 25:15. He competed for the Hornets in the Big Sky Cross Country Championships twice, placing 42nd in 2010 (24:05.95) and 36th in 2011 (27:16.09). Sacramento State finished fourth and fifth in team standings at each of those meets. His best times in track came in the 800 (1:59.19), 1,500 (3:58), mile (4:27.79), 3,000 (9:25.63) and 3,000m steeplechase (10:07.34).

High School: Kutsch helped the Mead Panthers claim two state titles during the 2007 and 2008 seasons as he placed 33rd as a senior (16:13) and 83rd as a junior (17:28) at the WIAA 4A State Cross Country Championships. In track, he placed fourth in the 1,600 at the state meet, running a time of 4:18.79 and helping Mead claim the team title. His personal bests came in the 800 (1:59.1), 1,500 (4:03.46), 1,600 (4:14.58) and 3,200 (9:32.2).

Personal: Visual communication design major. Born 2/14/91 in Spokane, Wash. His parents are Steve and Kim Kutsch. His mother, Kim, is an Eastern alumna.
