High School Cross Country: Williams attended the State 2A Cross Country Championships for three-straight years in high school. His best finish came his junior year as he placed 23rd with a time of 16:33.0 on a 5,000-meter course. During his sophomore year Williams placed 58th (17:51.0) and his senior year, he placed 38th (16:56:0). His best time ran on a 5,000-meter course came his senior year as he ran 16:29.03.

High School Track: Williams excelled on the track his senior year as he won the 2A state title in the 1600 meters, with a time of 4:20.94. He also placed second in the 3200 meters at state, recording a time of 9:27.32.
