Eagles Sign Third-Best Juco Power Forward in California
A senior-less team in the 2013-14 season, Eastern Washington University added the final piece to its men’s basketball program with the addition of power forward Kyle Reid from Los Angeles Trade Tech Junior College. Eastern head coach Jim Hayford made the announcement Wednesday (April 16) after Reid signed a letter of intent to play for the Eagles and attend EWU.

SEASON RECAP: Eagles Improve by Three Wins With Best Season in 10 Years
A near-miss left the Eastern Washington University men’s basketball team only hungrier for its next opportunity. Although they came a victory shy of a Big Sky Conference Tournament berth, the Eagles finished with three more league wins and five more victories overall than a year ago.

Tyler Harvey Picks Up Eastern’s First NABC All-District Honor Since Days of Rodney Stuckey; Venky Jois & Drew Brandon Also Receive Accolades
His numbers were Rodney Stuckey like, so it’s fitting that Tyler Harvey has become Eastern Washington University’s first selection since 2006 on the National Association of Basketball Coaches Association All-District 6 team announced Wednesday (March 12). The sophomore from Torrance, Calif., was named to the second team.

Although they were a made 3-pointer short, it was a thrilling way to end the regular season for the Eastern Washington University men’s basketball team. It was a heartbreaking way to end Eastern Washington University’s attempt at making history with a statement to the rest of the league. After impressive victories by 13 and 19 points in a weekend home sweep, guards Drew Brandon and Tyler Harvey both received player of the week honors Monday (Feb. 17) for the Eastern Washington University men’s basketball team. Brandon was named by College Sports Madness as not only its Big Sky Conference Player of the Week, but its Mid-Major Player of the Week as well after a weekend highlighted by 18 assists with only two turnovers in 75 minutes of action.

It seemed the further away the Eagles shot the ball, the better they were. Big Sky Honors Rodney Stuckey at 13th on All-Time List
After 1,438 points as an Eagle and more than 6,000 points as a pro, Rodney Stuckey has scored again. The former Eastern Washington University men’s basketball standout has been recognized as No. 13 among the best 50 male athletes all-time in the Big Sky Conference. He is the lone basketball representative from EWU on the list thus far announced by the league in celebration of its 50th anniversary.

Basketball Coaches Shows Begin Tuesday and Football Continues Tonight

Stuckey’s 40 Ranks 34th on Big Sky List
Rodney Stuckey has played more than 400 regular season games in the National Basketball Association, but his performance two days before Christmas in 2008 was particularly impressive. The former Eastern Washington University All-American scored 40 points for the Detroit Pistons against the Chicago Bulls that night, and, as a result, has been selected No. 34 on the Big Sky Conference list of top moments in the 50-year history of the league.

SEASON OUTLOOK: EWU Hopes Pendulum Swings Eagles Back Into Big Sky Tourney
The pendulum is swinging toward experience for the Eastern Washington University men’s basketball program. A year ago, Eastern utilized six freshmen/sophomores who each started at least three games with a collective total of 97 starts between them. This season, the Eagles will look to those same players – only a more improved and experienced group -- to help get the EWU back to the Big Sky Conference Tournament in the 2013-14 season.
