HS: Graduated from Kent-Meridian HS in 2009. Earned first team All-South Puget Sound League North Division honors as a running back and second team accolades as a defensive back. He rushed 155 times for 1,267 yards and 12 touchdowns as a senior, and also caught eight passes for 145 yards for a team that won just once. As a junior, he earned All-SPSL North Division honors as a defensive back when he had 34 tackles and three interceptions. He also rushed for 259 yards (7.2 per carry) and four touchdowns as Kent-Meridian finished 5-5. His nickname is "junior."
