A total of 16 seniors from EWU’s 6-5 team, including Walter Payton award winner Bo Levi Mitchell, will be honored as awards from the 2011 season are presented
The annual Eastern Washington University Football Awards Banquet will take place Sunday, Jan. 29 at 5 p.m. at the Pence Union Building Multipurpose Room on the EWU campus in Cheney, Wash.
Cost is $25 per person, and the event includes dinner and video productions and highlights from the 2011 season. Tickets must be purchased in advance by calling 509-359-2463. The deadline is Jan. 27 and no walk-ups will be accepted.
Team awards will be presented and other accomplishments acknowledged, including recognition of the team’s 16 seniors. One of the seniors is Walter Payton Award winner Bo Levi Mitchell, who ended his career with a school-record 4,009 passing yards in the 2011 season.
A year after capturing the NCAA Division I Football Championship, the Eagles finished the 2011 season 6-5 overall and 5-3 in the Big Sky Conference. The Eagles won six of their final seven games of the season, as Eastern garnered its 14th winning season in the last 16 years.
