2012: Listed as a co-starter with Jimmy Pavel at kicker on preseason depth chart. He will be affected greatly by new NCAA rules which go into effect in 2012. For player safety purposes, kickoffs will be moved from the 30-yard line to the 35, the kicking team will only get a five-yard run-up on kickoffs and a touchback after a kickoff will result in the ball spotted at the 25-yard line instead of the 20.

2011: Redshirted.

2010: Miller finished 2-of-3 kicking field goals for the Eagles in the 2010 season and also handled kickoffs for EWU. He booted a 48-yard field goal in the third quarter of EWU’s 34-7 win over Idaho State (11/20/10) to equal the 23rd-longest in school history. He also made a 44-yarder at Portland State (10/30/10) and had a 44-yarder blocked against North Dakota State (12/11/10). He also averaged 58.7 yards on six kickoffs against ISU and its prolific kickoff returner Tavoy Moore, who had five returns for 93 yards with a long of 38. ISU started possessions inside its own 20 four times, with an average field position of its own 24-yard line. Miller finished the 2010 season averaging 64.2 yards on 81 kickoffs with 15 touchbacks.

2009: Named to the Big Sky Conference All-Academic team. Played in EWU’s last eight games as he handled kickoffs and averaged 63.0 yards per kick. Of his 47 kickoffs, 14 were touchbacks. He was Eastern’s special teams player of the week versus Northern Arizona (11/21/09) when he averaged 68.1 per kickoff, with seven of his eight kicks ending as touchbacks.

HS: Graduated from Centennial HS in 2009. Earned second team Class 6A All-State honors as a kicker as selected by high school coaches in the state of Oregon. He also earned first team All-Mt. Hood League honors as both a senior and junior. His high school team was 3-8 his senior season after going 8-3 in 2007. As a senior he made 7-of-12 field goals with a long of 45, and 27-of-33 point after touchdown attempts. He also averaged 38.3 yards per punt and 33 of his 54 kickoffs were touchbacks. As a junior, he made 8-of-14 field goals with a school-record 50-yarder, and made 34-of-53 extra points. Also, 35 of his 72 kickoffs were touchbacks. As a sophomore, he had seven touchbacks and made 2-of-3 field goals and 25-of-27 extra points. Miller stood out at the Kohl’s Kicking and Punting Camp in Bothell, Wash., in July 2008. He won the placekicking competition with a 65-yard field goal, was No. 1 in kickoffs (63.67 yards) and received a 4.5-star rating on a 5-star scale. Also a soccer player at Centennial, he played soccer in the fall while also kicking for the football team. As a senior in 2008, his team advanced to the quarterfinals of the State 6A Playoffs in Oregon as he earned second team all-league honors. His brother, Mike, was a goalkeeper on Oregon State’s soccer team until an injury ended his career and kept him out of the 2009 season.
