Two-time All-America wide receiver will participate Feb. 20-26 in Indianapolis, Ind.
The aspirations of Brandon Kaufman to join the National Football League received a boost when the former Eastern Washington University wide receiver was invited to the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Ind., on Feb. 20-26, his player representative said Friday (Jan. 25).
Kaufman, who is currently training in Florida, is the seventh Eastern player in the last 11 years (2003-13) to be invited to participate in the combine. The NFL Draft is April 25-27.
The two-time NCAA Football Championship Subdivision All-American is being represented by Cameron Foster and the Foster Easley Sports Management Group of Seattle. Foster said Kaufman is currently training in Orlando with renown speed, strength and conditioning coach Tom Shaw at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
Kaufman is in Orlando along with fellow former Eagle wide receiver Greg Herd. Herd, as well as 2012 Eastern senior Zach Johnson, are being represented by Foster. His company also manages current EWU professionals Michael Roos (Tennessee Titans), Matt Johnson (Dallas Cowboys), Greg Peach (Hamilton Tiger-Cats) and Matt Nichols (Edmonton Eskimos). They have also represented former professionals Tom Ackerman, Derek Strey, Jeff Ogden, Luke Fritz, Eric Kimble and Keith Grennan.
