SWX to Air Three Eagle Games

Reaching most of Eastern Washington and North Idaho, broadcasts begin Sept. 7 with home opener

The region’s only 24/7 local sports television station, SWX will broadcast three Eastern Washington University football games this fall to its audience in Eastern Washington and North Idaho.

The first game broadcast by SWX will be Sept. 7 when the Eagles host Western Oregon at 4 p.m. Pacific time at Roos Field in Cheney, Wash. The next broadcast will be EWU’s Hall of Fame Game versus Weber State on Oct. 5, also at 4 p.m.

The final broadcast will be EWU’s Homecoming game on Oct. 19 versus Southern Utah at 5 p.m.

Greg Heister will provide the play-by-play and Bill Ames will be the analyst. The games will be produced by Tom Holmberg. SWX is a sister station of KHQ TV in Spokane.

Over-air digital stations for SWX are 6.2 in Spokane/Cheney/Sandpoint/Lewiston, 23.3 in Yakima and 25.3 in the Tri-Cities. The station is also available via Comcast 115/306 starting in October (Spokane); Davis Cable 514/81.2/12 (Cheney); Time Warner 306 (Coeur d’Alene & Pullman/Moscow); Charter 287 (Tri-Cities/Yakima), Cable One 466 (Lewiston) and Northland Cable 115 (Moses Lake & Sandpoint).

The addition of the four broadcasts means nine of EWU’s 12 games will be televised regionally this year. The season opener at Oregon State is on the Pac-12 Networks, the Sam Houston State game is on Comcast SportsNet Northwest and the Montana, Montana State, Cal Poly and Portland State games are all on Root Sports.

In addition, the Toledo game will be broadcast via computer and mobile devices on ESPN3 (http://www.watchespn.com). All Big Sky Conference games (except for those broadcast on Root Sports) will be webcast by the league (http://www.bigskyconf.com).
