2007: Listed as a backup at strong-side inside linebacker on preseason depth chart. Moved to linebacker from running back in the spring. 2006: Saw action in six games as a reserve running back. He earned team offensive scout team player of the week honors once. Seven of his 10 carries came against Montana State (9/23/06) when he had 14 yards and had his only pass reception of the season. He was the second-leading rusher in the spring with 71 yards on 21 carries in four spring scrimmages. 2005: Redshirted. 2004: Cole rushed for 199 yards in the first and only start of his career thus far in Eastern's 51-7 victory over Weber State (10/23/04). He carried just 18 times and scored on a 67-yard touchdown run on Eastern's first offensive play of the second half. Told the night before he was getting the starting nod as an injury replacement for Darius Washington, he averaged 11.1 yards per carry and scored two touchdowns en route to the 23rd-best rushing performance in school history. His next-highest game was 28 yards on six carries versus Northern Arizona (10/9/04). His first career touchdown came in Eastern's season opener against Nicholls State (9/2/04) when he scored on a 3-yard run. 2003: Although he didn't letter, Cole rushed 13 times for 56 yards (4.3 per carry) as a true freshman. He made his debut against Southern Utah (9/20/03) when he carried nine times for 41 yards. He played as an injury replacement on the depth chart for senior Darius Washington, who injured his knee against Idaho and redshirted. HS: Graduated from North Thurston HS in 2003. Was named a first team 3A All-State running back by Associated Press as selected by sportswriters. Selected by the Seattle Times as a "White Chip" selection as one of the top 100 recruits in the state of Washington. The Tacoma News Tribune selected him to its All-Area team as a running back. He also earned Olympian All-Area honors and was an All-Pac Nine first team selection as a running back. Selected to play in All-State game. He rushed for 2,041 yards on 184 carries (11.1 per carry) and 30 touchdowns, and had 226 yards and three touchdowns receiving. He also returned a kickoff for a touchdown. His top single-game performances during the year included 289 yards and five touchdowns on 20 carries (14.5 per carry), and 253 yards and four touchdowns on 18 carries (14.3 per carry).
