JC: As a sophomore at Orange Coast, Hoffman was first team All-Mission Conference as a kick returner, and earned All-State accolades. He caught 33 passes for 545 yards and six touchdowns, and was named his team's most valuable wide receiver. He also returned 17 kickoffs for a 31.6 average per return, including two kickoff returns for touchdowns in the same game.

HS: Graduated from Shorecrest HS in 2004. As a senior, he earned first team All-WesCo honors as a wide receiver and second team accolades as a return specialist. He caught 45 passes for 525 yards and five touchdowns, and also rushed for 561 yards and 10 scores. He finished with 1,453 all-purpose yards (161.4 per game). He returned nine punts for an 11.9 average and 12 kickoffs for a 21.7 average. As a junior, Hoffman earned second team all-league honors as a receiver. He also played basketball for the Scots and was a state qualifier in track.

Personal: Born 9/20/85 in Westminster, Calif. Will turn 23 the days EWU plays Western Washington. Shane is the older brother of EWU sophomore Jesse Hoffman. Interdisciplinary studies major.
