2006: Listed as a starter at nose guard on preseason depth chart. 2005: Started two games at nose guard. He finished the season with eight tackles, including a pair for losses. He made the first start of his career against Sacramento State (10/29/05), and had a career-high three tackles. He also had three tackles in his next start versus Cal Poly (11/5/05). He came to Eastern just before the season began after transferring from Missouri. Missouri: Redshirted in the 2004 season. JC: Played two seasons at the College of the Siskiyous Junior College, where one of the coaches was a college teammate at Central Washington with EWU offensive coordinator Beau Baldwin. Following the 2003 season, Lane was considered a top-25 junior college defensive lineman and was rated as the No. 87 overall JUCO prospect at any position by SuperPrep Magazine. He was a two-time all-conference performer on the defensive line, finishing with 73 tackles as a sophomore, including eight tackles for loss and six sacks. He had 56 tackles as a freshman, including seven tackles for loss and 4 1/2 sacks. Highly recruited coming out of both high school and junior college, he chose Missouri over Oregon, California, San Jose State, Iowa State and Baylor, among others.
