HS: Graduated from Steilacoom HS in 2007. Earned second team 2A All-State honors as a wide receiver and honorable mention accolades as a defensive back and a return specialist from WashingtonPreps.com. Selected to play in the 2A/1A/2B/1B All-State Game. Ford was voted first team All-Nisqually League as a wide receiver and second team as a defensive back and kick returner. He was also named by the Seattle Times as a "White Chip" selection as one of the top 100 prospects in the state of Washington. As a senior, he caught 48 passes for 1,080 yards and had 15 total touchdowns. Ford was his team's Offensive MVP. Despite finishing the season just 4-7, Steilacoom advanced to the State 2A Playoffs where it lost 55-7 to Tumwater and EWU recruits Zach and Matt Johnson. He is also an outstanding basketball and baseball player. In basketball he was team captain and averaged 14 points per game as a junior and senior. As a senior, Steilacoom finished 11-10 and he earned first team all-league honors. He was a second team all-league pick as a junior when he helped lead Steilacoom to the district championship, the State 2A Tournament and a final record of 17-10. He was All-State in baseball as a senior and was invited to the All-State game as a center fielder. He hit .536 as a senior to earn All-Area honors from both the Tacoma News-Tribune and The Olympian. He had 28 stolen bases, 31 RBI, two home runs, eight doubles, eight triples and scored 40 runs. His team finished 18-6 and lost in the first round of the State 2A Tournament. He earned first team all-league honors in both 2006 and 2005, and as a junior he hit .450 with 20 stolen bases. He was his team's MVP as a junior as he led the squad to a district title.
