A three-time All-BSC selection, senior finishes 6-9 in singles and 10-7 in doubles
Nico Riego de Dios of the Eastern Washington University men’s tennis team capped off his successful career as an Eagle by earning All-Big Sky Conference second team honors for his performance during the 2009-10 season.
Riego de Dios, who earned first team honors the last two seasons, compiled a 6-9 overall singles record and a 10-7 overall doubles record on the year. He played almost exclusively in the No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles spot all season. Riego de Dios and partner Chad Henninger went 9-3 in the No. 1 doubles slot.
With his six victories on the season, Riego de Dios finishes fourth on EWU's all-time career singles wins list with 42. He began the season in fifth with 36 and moved past the 39 of former teammate Daniel Pez on April 9 with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Weber State.
Riego de Dios, a native of Olongapo City, Philippines, was the only upperclassman on EWU's 2009-10 roster. Eastern finished the season 7-14 overall, finishing 3-5 in the Big Sky Conference.
