2008-09: Outdoors, Blackwell finished seventh in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.16 at the Big Sky Conference Championships. He also finished 17th in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 56.06. His best 110 hurdles came in the prelims of the conference championships with a time of 15.06. His best 400 hurdles came at the Albertsons Meet with a time of 55.11. Indoors, Blackwell finished 12th in the 60-meter hurdles at the Big Sky Conference Championships with a time of 8.63. His best 60 hurdles came at the Vandal Collegiate with a time of 8.54.

2007-08: Outdoors, Blackwell finished 12th at the BSC Championships in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.47. His best 400 hurdles came at the Vandal Jamboree with a time of 55.19. His best 110 hurdles came at the Bronco Twilight with a time of 15.82. Indoors, Blackwell’s best 60-meter hurdles came at the WSU Open II Indoor Meet with a time of 8.77.
