2008-09: Outdoors, Howard finished fourth in the shot put with a career-best mark of 53-2 3/4, 12th in the discus (148-11), 16th in the hammer (151-10) and 12th in the javelin (184-4) at the Big Sky Conference Outdoor Championships. Indoors, Howard won the Big Sky Conference Championship in the shot put with a career-best mark of 57-4 3/4 to rank third in school history. He also finished 13th in the weight throw with a mark of 45-4 1/4. His career-best throw in the weight throw came at the Cougar Indoor with a mark of 51-3 1/2.

Community College of Spokane: Howard competed in the shot put, hammer, discus and javelin. In 2008, he was men’s team captain and at the NWAACC Championships defended his title in the shot put, was second in the discus, fifth in the javelin and 14th in the hammer. In 2007, Howard was the NWAACC champion in the shot put, and finished third in the discus and fifth in the hammer. His personal best marks were in the shot put (50-1), hammer (145-0), discus (151-7) and javelin (177-10).
