The Eastern Washington University cross country team competed at the 2007 Sundodger Invitational Saturday, Sept. 15, in Seattle, Wash. The men's team had a third place finish while the women finished sixth overall.
Eagle junior Paul Limpf finished second in the 8,000-meter men's run with a time of 23:46, only ten seconds behind Jon Harding of Washington (23:36).
Rounding off the runners for EWU were freshman Alex Smyth (14th, 24:32), sophomore Tyler Justice (32nd, 25:07), freshman Graham Vaux (51st, 25:33) and senior Andrew Marks (78th, 26:34).
In the women's 6,000-meter race, junior Mattie Bridgmon had a fifth place finish with a time of 21:04. Senior Samantha Modderman (22:03) finished 20th.
The other EWU finishers were senior Kiri Garruto (23rd, 22:07), senior Amber Nickelson (47th, 23:01), junior monica Prunty (53rd, 23:08), junior Tracy Kuhn (63rd, 24:28) and freshman Whitney Johnson (68th, 26:15).
Eastern's cross country teams will head to St. Paul, Minn., Saturday, Sept. 29 for the Roy Griak Invitational.
