Eastern Washington sophomore Paul Limpf placed fourth in the men's race, but both the EWU men's and women's cross country teams were 0-4 in dual meets at the Montana Invitational Cross Country Invitational Saturday (Sept. 30) in Missoula, Mont.
Limpf, a 2005 graduate of Evergreen High School in Vancouver, Wash., finished with a time of 25:16 on the eight-kilometer course. Junior Curtis Suver also broke into the top 10 with a time of 25:54.
The men placed fourth last year at the Big Sky Championships, which was their best finish in the history of Eastern. Suver placed 13th and Limpf was 18th in that meet.
In the women's six-kilometer race at UM, senior Camille Moseley (formerly Gibb) placed 11th with a time of 22:45 and Mattie Bridgmon was 13th in 22:50. Last season, Mosely was 12th at the Big Sky Championships.
Eastern's men were defeated by Big Sky rivals Montana State (24-37), Idaho State (25-34) and Montana (25-36) in dual meet scoring, and also fell to Washington State (18-43). In Invitational scoring, Eastern was sixth among nine teams.
For the women, Eastern lost to Montana State (23-33), Idaho State (25-31) and Montana (20-40) in dual meet scoring, and also fell to Washington State (17-44). In Invitational scoring, Eastern was fifth among seven teams.
