Head Coach Wendy Schuller on Ojeda: “Carrie jumped up a ton of steps on the ladder in the offseason in terms of her conditioning. Sometimes with a freshman post player, that is an issue you can encounter, but Carrie is in tremendous shape right now; probably the best shape of her life. We are going to rely on her to score with her back to the basket, and defend us inside. She is a great rebounder and can certainly move. She learned a lot from playing with Piper last season, and now as a sophomore, we expect her to make an impact at that position.”

2009-10: Saw action in nearly every game of the 2009-10 season. Averaged 2.1 points per game and 2.4 rebounds per game for the Eagles. Grabbed 28 offensive boards, which was the fourth-highest on the squad. She tallied a season-high seven rebounds in Eastern’s narrow 51-49 victory at Northern Colorado (Jan. 16), and had a season-high six points on four different occasions. Led the team on the glass against Corban College (Nov. 21), as she pulled down six rebounds. Had a solid all-around effort against the Wildcats (Jan. 23) with four points, six rebounds and one assist.

High School: Graduated from Mount Tahoma High School in 2009. She was named first team All-Narrows League Bay Division three times and twice helped her team to fifth-place finishes at the 4A state tournament (2006, 2007). She averaged 18.6 points, 10.6 rebounds and 4.8 blocks per game as a senior. She also shot 55 percent from the field and 60 percent from the free throw line. One of her most impressive outings came in a win over Mercer Island High School, when she tallied 42 points, 17 rebounds and seven blocks. She also competed for the MTHS soccer and track and field teams.
