High School: 2010 graduate of Hanford High School in Richland, Wash., where she was a three-year varsity letterwinner. Averaged 16 points and 10 rebounds as a junior, helping the Falcons earn a 16-7 overall record and a bid to the 2009 State 3A Tournament. Garnered 3A All-State team honors in 2009 and was a first-team All-Columbia Basin Big Nine League selection. As a sophomore, Hughes helped her high school team to a third-place finish at the state championships. Also lettered in track and field, as she was a regional qualifier in the discus, 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash and as a member of the 4x100 and 4x200-meter relay.

Personal: Daughter of Leanne and Robert Hughes Jr. Plans to pursue a degree in nursing.
