@EWUCoachSchu Goes #Chillin4Charity, Completes Cold Water Challenge
Cheney, Wash. – Eastern Washington Women's Basketball head coach Wendy Schuller participated in a fundraising effort called the Cold Water Challenge Thursday morning, raising money for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund in the process.
The brainchild of Arizona Women's Basketball head coach Niya Butts, the Cold Water Challenge sees women's basketball coaches and student-athletes get ice-cold tubs of water dumped on them with the goal of raising money for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
Once challenged, each coach or player has 48 hours to respond. Any head coach that chooses not to participate owes $250 to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. If the coach does participate in the challenge, the original challenger will donate $50 to the foundation. Assistant coaches also raise money for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund with their participation, while student-athletes will give back through community service.
Schuller was challenged by former player and assistant coach Cheryl Sorenson, now the head coach at Portland. In turn, Schuller challenged colleagues Jennifer Graf of Troy and Vic Schaefer of Mississippi State.
