2006-07: Benson earned Honorable Mention accolades when the All-Big Sky Conference teams were announced. She was also honored as a member of the Big Sky Conference All-Academic team for winter quarter 2007. She placed 81st among all NCAA Division I players and second among Big Sky Conference players in rebounds per game with 8.4. She was third in blocks per game with 1.4, and her scoring average of 8.9 points per game placed her 25th in the Big Sky. Twice, she had streaks of 16 straight makes from the free throw line, including at the end of the season. Benson had a then-career high point total of 12 against Washington. She then destroyed that mark with a 20-point performance on 8-of-12 shooting against Gonzaga. She helped the Eagles snap a six-game losing streak with a double-double in a win over Northwestern State (14 points, game-leading 13 rebounds). Benson had an impressive showing against Idaho State, contributing 17 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks. She nailed all eight free throws against Northern Colorado on Jan. 20 and also had an Eagle season-high total of 14 rebounds in that contest to go with 12 points. She tallied 12 points and 13 rebounds in a big 80-61 win over Portland State. Benson ended the season playing top-notch basketball, recording double-doubles six times in her last 14 games and missing two others by just one rebound. 2005-06: Benson averaged 2.4 points and 3.7 rebounds per game her freshman season. She recorded her second-highest point total of the season (seven) in an 84-54 defeat of Nicholls State. In an 85-54 loss to Santa Clara, Benson tallied six points and grabbed eight rebounds to go with two steals in 10 minutes of action for the Eagles. In a dramatic 78-76 win over Portland State, Benson tallied six points. In a 74-65 loss to Idaho State, Benson had eight rebounds in 32 minutes (her most time seen on the court in 2005-06). She would set a season high with nine rebounds in EWU's next contest, a 79-54 setback at Montana. Personal: In the 2004-05 4A state title game, Benson scored a game-high 20 points and had 14 rebounds. Benson was named to the All-WesCo North first team and earned honorable mention accolades on the Associated Press 4A All-State team as a senior. In the 2003-04 season, Benson averaged seven points and seven rebounds per game and ended her junior season with 120 blocks. She was named her school's Student of the Year in 2004. She is the daughter of Paul and Nancy Benson. She has a sister, Katie, 17. Benson is majoring in French and English.
