Eastern in 16th After First Two Rounds at Circling Raven
Holmstedt leads Eagles in day one with top 30 score
Senior Kellie Holmstedt shot a 36-hole total of 153 (79-74) to lead the Eastern Washington University women’s golf team in the first day of competition at the Circling Raven Collegiate Invitational in Worley, Idaho. Holmstedt is currently tied for 26th out of 107 total golfers.
As a team, the Eagles sit in 16th place with a two-round total of 629 (321-308). Eastern trails Big Sky foes Northern Arizona and Portland State, who are in second and third place, respectively, but do lead the Weber State Wildcats, who recorded a two-round score of 643 (328-315).
Sophomore Jayme Carbon turned in the second-best Eagle score of the day, as she fired a 78 in the first round and 76 in the second. Junior Kylie Ray is tied for 39th with her two-round total of 155 (76-79).
The Eagles will wrap up the final 18 holes from the Circling Raven Golf Course at the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort and Hotel tomorrow (Sept. 14), starting at 8 a.m.
