Eagle Golf in Fourth Place after First Round of Big Sky Championship

The Eastern Washington University women's golf team is currently in fourth place after one round of the Big Sky Conference Championship, which is hosted by the Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Ariz.

Chloe Nelson is leading the way for the Eagles as her 77 (+5) places her in an eighth-place tie, just six shots behind the leader, Margaux Sheehan of Sacramento State. Sheena Prante is just behind Nelson, as she shot a 78 (+6) and is currently tied for the 11th spot.

Katie Kofmehl is in a 20th-place stalemate with an 81 (+9), while Marli Mikulecky and Chelsey Lollar are each tied for the 26th slot after shooting an 82 (+10).

The Eagles as a team are shooting 318 (+30) and trail second-place Northern Arizona (311, +23) by just seven strokes and third-place Weber State (312, +24) by six shots. Sacramento State (294, +6) has an early 17-stroke lead on the competition through one day. The Hornets fired the second-lowest round in school history today.

The tournament continues on Tuesday (April 17) before concluding the next day. Competition begins each day at 7:15 a.m.
