Mikulecky Ties for Seventh at Big Sky Championship

The Eastern Washington University women's golf team wrapped up
play at the three-round Big Sky Conference Championship on
Wednesday (April 22) with an eighth-place finish. The Eagles shot a
964 as a team (335-320-309) over the three-day event.
Marli
Mikulecky had the best performance by an Eagle this week, as
she finished in a seventh-place tie with a 229 (79-78-72). The
senior became the 14th Eastern golfer to place in the top 10 at the
Championship in the past seven years. She is also ninth in school
history for lowest average round in a season (78.45).
Kellie
Holmstedt was also in the top 15 at the 2009 Championship, as
she placed 15th after carding a 235 (81-77-77). Kristina Gargaro
was 33rd after she shot a 245 (85-81-79), Kylie Ray was 41st (255,
90-84-81), and Ines Pantoli finished
45th (317, 104-111-102).
Northern Arizona claimed the team title with a 914 (298-309-307),
outlasting runner-up Sacramento State (920, 308-312-300) and
third-place Weber State (924, 315-305-304). Northern Colorado's Ali
Nelson claimed the individual crown with a 222 (77-74-71).
The Ocotillo Golf Resort in Chandler, Ariz, hosted the event.
