Mikulecky Named All-Big Sky Second Team
April 14, 2009
Marli
Mikulecky, a senior with the Eastern Washington University
women's golf team, has been named second team All-Big Sky
Conference. The set of honors is her second, as she earned
first-team accolades a year ago.
She has posted an average round of 78.8 this year, good enough to
place her among the 10 best golfers in the Big Sky this year. She
also had an impressive .633 winning percentage throughout the
2008-09 campaign (269-156).
The Osoyoos, B.C., native earned Big Sky Golfer of the Week
accolades on Oct. 1 after tying for 20th place at the CU Heather
Farr Memorial Invitational with a 218 (75-73-70), the third-lowest
three-round score in school history.
Her 70 in the final round of that tournament hosted by Omni
Interlocken Resort Golf Club in Broomfield, Colo., is tied for the
sixth-lowest in Eagle annals.
Mikulecky and the Eagles will play in the Big Sky Championship from
Monday-Wednesday (April 20-22) at the Ocotillo Golf Club in
Chandler, Ariz.
Eastern Washington has now had 11 Eagles honored by the Big Sky
over the past seven years.
