April 16, 2007
Eastern Washington University women's golf player Chloe Nelson was named to the All-Big Sky Conference Second Team, the conference office announced on Monday (April 16). The conference uses the Golfweek.com national rankings to determine its all-conference teams, and Nelson's national ranking of 413th places her seventh among conference competitors.
Nelson becomes the 11th Eagle to be honored by the Big Sky Conference since the first awards in 1993 and the sixth in the past five years. She is the first since Carlie Allen was named to the first team in 2005.
Nelson's average round score of 77.0 in 2006-07 ranks second among all conference players, while she is seventh when just spring tournaments are considered. She has been named Co-Big Sky Player of the Week on two occasions (Sept. 13 and March 15).
Nelson and the rest of the Eagles are in the midst of the Big Sky Championship, to be played from Monday-Wednesday (April 16-18) at the Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Ariz.
