Eastern's three first-team selections are the second most from any team in the conference
The three first-team selections are second behind only Northern Colorado, who saw four players earn first-team honors.
Allen was an All-Big Sky Honorable Mention selection last season after playing in 17 of Eastern's 18 matches and logging 13 starts in the midfield. She recorded three shots in 1,024 minutes, putting two on frame.
Brannan started and played in the Eagles' first 15 matches of the season before suffering a season-ending injury just five minutes into Eastern's match versus Montana (Oct. 12). Despite the setback, she still earned All-Big Sky Second Team honors after anchoring EWU's defense to three shutouts on the year and limited opponents to a single goal in seven other matches. She totaled 1,275 minutes last season, doubling her total from two years ago.
Black had a stellar sophomore campaign in 2012, scoring eight goals and adding two assists en route to earning All-Big Sky Second Team honors. She put away a school-record four game-winning goals last season, upping her career total to a program-best seven game-winners. She was the only player in the conference to net a hat trick in 2012 and finished second in the league in goals and third in points.
Idaho State's Amanda Elsworth was tabbed the preseason favorite for Offensive Player of the Year honors while Weber State's Brecken Holbrook was named the preseason Defensive Player of the Year. Portland State's Aurora Bodenhamer earned preseason Freshman of the Year honors while Montana's head coach Mark Plakorus was the preseason favorite for Coach of the Year honors.
Eastern will begin preparations for its 2013 season next week before opening its schedule against at home against Gonzaga on Friday, Aug. 23, at 4 p.m.
