With their final two games of the 2013 season coming up this weekend, Eastern will look to end what has been a tough campaign on a high note for their six outgoing seniors. Friday's game vs. Southern Utah will bring just the third meeting between the two teams in the series history, while Northern Arizona will square off against the Eagles for the 16th time since 1998.
With a win against Southern Utah on Friday, Eastern would go 3-0 against an opponent in their first three matchups for the first time in program history. There's a good chance of that occurring as well, considering Eastern's proven ability to put up shots combined with SUU's conference-low save percentage of 63.2%. Earlier this year, the Eagles put up an incredible 31 shots against North Dakota--the fourth highest total in team history.
Sunday's game against Northern Arizona will also bring the end of six careers, as Eastern honors its seniors in their final game at Sports & Recreation Field. Siara Byers, Torri Sitzman and Brianna Brannan have competed for the Eagles since 2009, while Jackie Rodgers, Nicole Medeiros and Katy Allen all came to Eastern in 2011 after two years at other schools.
A couple records are at a tipping point if a few Eastern players can come up big this weekend. Cassie Black, who already holds the all-time records for goals and game-winning goals, is just 16 shots shy of breaking EWU's single-season record for shots, while Kayla Sutter remains one assist short of tying the record for most assists in a season.
