DePaul scored two first-half goals and made them stand up for a 2-0 women's soccer victory over Eastern Washington Sunday (Aug. 27) in Chicago, Ill.
The Blue Demons out-shot the Eagles 25-7, but Tiera Como recorded 12 saves for EWU. She is a senior from East Valley High School in Spokane, Wash., and was the Defensive Player of the Year in the Big Sky a year ago.
DePaul scored 31:52 into the match on a goal by Jennifer Dyer, then scored again just before halftime on a goal by Shannon Williams.
Abby Jensen and Lillian Bourret each had two shots for the Eagles. Eastern is now 0-2 and plays at Gonzaga next Saturday (Sept. 2) before hosting Birmingham-Southern the following day at 10:30 a.m. at the EWU Sports and Recreation Center.
