Eagles Continue Best Start in School History, Beat Idaho 2-1

Junior Abby Jensen of the Eastern Washington University women's soccer team is about to break the school record for goals in a single season, her fourth helped the visiting Eagles (5-4) beat the University of Idaho 2-1 on Sunday (Oct. 7).

Jensen, who has scored four goals in her past three game, is nearing the single-season goal record of five. Traci Jellison (2002) and Liz Hail (2001) hold that record.

Her goal, the sixth of her career, came in the seventh minute of the game off of a cross junior Jocelyn Bement to the right corner of the goal to give the Eagles the lead 1-0.

In the 82nd minute the Eagles scored again with a header by junior Morgan O'Friel with the cross from junior Lillian Bourret.

The University of Idaho (4-7) answered back with a goal in the 89th minute by Aimee Goss off of a penalty kick.

The Eagles tallied a total of 19 shots to Idaho's 10.

Senior Cyeeta Mott had four shots today to give her a totoal of 114 to place her just eight shy of the school record. Beth Russell (2002-05) holds the record with a total of 122.

The Eagles will start Big Sky Conference play on the road, playing Northern Colorado (3-6-1) on Friday (Oct. 12) at 6 p.m. Pacific Time and Northern Arizona (5-3-4) on Sunday (Oct. 14) at 12:05 p.m.
