Soccer Falls to League-Leading Idaho State 5-1

Chelsey Hannesson scored the only goal for the Eagles in the first half, but the Eastern Washington University soccer team fell 5-1 to league-leading Idaho State Sunday (Oct. 22) in Pocatello, Idaho.

Hannesson's goal came in the 32nd minute for the Eagles (5-12-1, 1-5-0) and was unassisted.

The Bengals, (9-7-0, 5-1-0) struck first in the 21st minute when Chantal Kim scored her first of three goals on the day. She also scored in the 68th and 76th minutes. Jill Christofferson and Michelle Okumura also scored for Idaho State.

Eastern was out-shot 15-9 for the match. Tiera Como recorded five saves for the Eagles.

The Eagles will conclude their 2006 season as they host Montana Sunday (Oct. 29) at 1 p.m. at the Sports and Recreation Center in Cheney, Wash.
