Tiera Como Earns NSCAA Academic Honor

Eastern Washington University senior goalkeeper Tiera Como was honored academically by being named to the All-West region third team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Como, a graduate of East Valley High School out of Spokane, Wash., is majoring in Mathematics Education and has a 3.40 grade point average. The 2006 NSCAA/adidas College Women Scholar All-West Region selects a first, second and a third team each year along with honorable mention.

On the field Como also performed well. She earned her second-straight co-defensive player of the year award in the Big Sky Conference this season. She leaves Eastern having earned seven Big Sky player of the week honors, and two first team All-Big Sky honors. Como has school records for career shutouts (12), saves per game (6.36), goals against average (1.44), and wins (14).

She will also be named to the Big Sky All-Academic team for a fourth straight season when the squad is announced in January of 2007.
