Eagles Remain Perfect In Big Sky

The Eastern Washington University women's tennis team improved to 4-0 in the Big Sky Conference with a close 4-3 victory over the Weber State Wildcats Saturday (March 13) at the Thorpe Fieldhouse in Cheney, Wash.

"I was very pleased with our performance today," said associate head coach Dale Silha. "Our doubles is getting better with each match and we have won the doubles point in each of the four conference matches that we have played so far."

Kelsey Knight won easily at No. 3 singles to set the tone for the match and put the Eagles up 2-0. After a loss by Judy Liening at No. 4 singles, No. 1 singles player Caitlin Bampton and No. 2 singles player Marie Demerath provided close three set wins for the Eagles.

The Eagles now have four Big Sky matches left and are next in action March 20 at San Jose State.
