Women’s Tennis Matches Rescheduled; All Other EWU Athletic Events are a Go

Due to severe winter weather throughout Washington and Oregon, the Eastern Washington University women's tennis matches originally scheduled in Eugene, Ore., this weekend have been postponed until March.

The Eagles had planned to travel to Eugene to play Portland on Saturday (Jan. 21) and Oregon on Sunday (Jan. 22) for their 2012 season openers. These matches have been rescheduled for March 10 and 11, respectively.

The women's tennis team will now open the season on Jan. 28 in Spokane, Wash., with a match against Seattle.

All other EWU athletic teams with events scheduled this weekend are expected to take place as planned, including the men's basketball home game on Saturday (Jan. 21) versus Portland State. The Eagles and Vikings will tip off from Reese Court at 6:05 p.m.

The women's basketball squad is still intending to play at Portland State on Saturday, while the men's tennis team is headed to Boise, Idaho for two matches against St. Mary's and Boise State.
