The Eastern Washington women's tennis team dropped a pair of Big Sky road matches this past weekend, falling at Montana State and Montana.
Eastern (3-15, 1-6 Big Sky) was upended by Montana State, 6-1, on Friday, Apr. 4, before Montana defeated the Eagles, 7-0, on Sunday, Apr. 6.
"We ran up against two really talented teams this weekend," head coach Dustin Hinson said. "I thought we displayed a positive attitude and showed good effort in our two matches. We'll take some things back to the practice court and continue to improve."
Junior Moira Hedberg was the lone Eagle to record a victory against Montana State. Playing in the No. 1 position for the 17th time this season, she defeated the Bobcats' top player 7-5, 6-4.
Freshman Dani Young pushed her match in the No. 2 position to a tiebreaker in the first set before falling 7-5, 6-0.
Against Montana on Sunday, Moira Hedberg battled the Grizzlie's top player before eventually falling 6-2, 6-3.
The Eagles are back at home this weekend, hosting Weber State on Friday, Apr. 11, and Southern Utah on Sunday, Apr. 13.
