Eagles Toppled by No. 42 Boise State

The Eastern Washington University women's tennis team is in the midst of a challenging stretch to start its 2008 campaign, as the Eagles are playing four straight nationally-ranked opponents. On Saturday, Eastern Washington dropped its third of that stretch to 42nd-ranked Boise State, 7-0.
The visiting Eagles had its best doubles performance this morning on court three, as Sarah Leuenberger and Marie Demerath lost to Bianca Jochimsen and Klaudia Wlodarczyk, 8-3. The No. 1 match saw Boise State's 40th-ranked pair of Polina Kokoulina and Pichittra Thongdach outlast Kasey Knox and Amanda Mankovits, 8-2.
In singles play, Knox fell on court one, 6-1, 6-4, to Thongdoch, while the No. 3 match saw No. 81 Jochimsen defeat Leuenberger, 6-1, 6-3.
The Eagles will wrap up the weekend with an 8:30 a.m. Pacific Time match versus No. 67 Utah. That contest will also take place in Boise, Idaho. The Utes are 3-1 and will take on Boise State at 4 p.m. tonight.
