The Eastern Washington University women's tennis team saw its season get under way on the first day of the Cougar Classic in Pullman, Wash., on Friday (Sept. 21). Rachel Berger had the most impressive day, winning both of her singles contests and claiming her lone doubles contest, teaming up with Sarah Leuenberger for that win.
"We faced some pretty formidable opponents today, and I was really happy with our level of play this early in the season," interim head coach Darren Haworth said. "We lived up to my expectations and battled really hard.
"Rachel Berger was definitely our standout player of the day. She played really well, played consistent tennis."
