The Eastern Washington women's tennis team continues its 2007-08 season with the EWU/Gonzaga Classic, to be played in Cheney from Friday-Sunday (Sept. 28-30).
"We're really excited about hosting the EWU women's tournament this year," interim head coach Darren Haworth said. "We've got some great teams in the tournament. It should be another good test for the team. We will see some Big Sky Conference opposition, which will give us some insight for the (spring) season."
Teams participating will include Eastern, Gonzaga, Idaho and Lewis-Clark State, as well as Big Sky members Montana.
After playing at the Cougar Classic last weekend in Pullman, Wash., Rachel Berger has the best singles record on the team (3-1), while the doubles team of Kasey Knox and Amanda Mankovits also carry a 3-1 mark into this weekend's competition.
