2007-08: In Peterson's first season competing for the Eagles, she finished fourth in the javelin with a throw of 147-7 at the Big Sky Outdoor Championships. She went on to compete at the NCAA West Regionals where she finished 10th with a throw of 150-10. Her career-best throw of 154-5 came at the Al Manuel Invitational to rank sixth on Eastern's all-time best list. She finished sixth in the javelin at the 2008 USA Junior Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a throw of 152-10. She was Big Sky All-Academic outdoors.
