Four Athletes Set Personal Records In Indoor Track

The Eastern Washington University Track and Field team split squads this week as half competed at the Montana State University Dual Invitational, Fri. Jan. 26 while the other half competed at University of Washington Invitational, Jan. 26-27.

At the Montana State Dual Invitational Senior Mike Uhlenkott broke his indoor best mark in the pole vault to place third at MSU, with a jump of 15-9, which places him in a tie for third in the Eastern record books. His previous high mark was 14-7 1/2.

Marcus Whitehead qualified for the Big Sky Conference Indoor Championships in the 400, with a time of 48.13 for first place. His mark is a personal best and now ranks him fourth all-time at Eastern.

The men's 4 x 400 relay team of Chad Butorac, Derek Clemmons, Jason Kirk, Marcus Whitehead, qualified for the BSC Championships with a time of 3:17.68, for first place.

Senior Teanna Meinhold placed first in the triple jump at 38-0.

At the University of Washington Invitational, Carolee Geaudreau broke her indoor best mark in the weight throw with a throw of 58-1 3/4 to take third place.

Also qualifying for conference and setting a personal record was Paul Limpf in the 5000 with an eighth place finish and a time of 14:41.59. Limpf is now fifth in the Eastern record book.

Next up for the track and field team is the University of Washington Husky Classic Feb. 9-10 in Seattle, Wash.
